Police in Miami are looking for two alleged burglars who stole $100,000 worth of jewelry from a woman’s penthouse apartment.
The burglary took place on Saturday, Oct. 12 in the 2700 block of SW 27th Avenue, police said. Detectives say the woman left her home around 8:45 p.m. the night before and came home to find her home ransacked.
The woman said the door to her penthouse had been pried open and the lock was damaged, according to a news release.
Surveillance video shows one suspect attempting to load the woman’s safe into a white Nissan Juke. The suspect was wearing a dark hooded sweater with dark pants and black and white sneakers. He also had on a mask covering half his face.
When the first suspect was unable to load the safe into the vehicle, he left and returned several minutes later with a second suspect who assisted him, police said.
The second suspect was also wearing a hooded sweater and long pants.
