Miami Police Looking for Armed Abductors

Miami Police have asked for the public’s help to identify a couple who allegedly kidnapped a woman at gunpoint and then robbed the victim.

Police said the victim was walking on NW 34th Avenue and 7th Street in Miami when a newer model gray Nissan passenger van pulled up beside her and told her that her son was in trouble. The victim replied that she did not have a son and the suspects then changed the story to say it was actually her daughter.

Miami Police said as the victim continued to talk to the man and woman in the van, the man pulled out a handgun and told the victim to get into the van.

Police said when the victim was in the van, she called her daughter who told her she couldn’t talk because she was at work. The alleged kidnappers told the victim they told her to say that and that they needed $30,000 to help the daughter.

Miami Police said the suspects then drove the victim to her home, the victim ran inside, but left her cell phone in the car. The victim came back with jewelry that she gave to the people in the van. The victim allegedly told the kidnappers she had more and went back to get it. When she returned, police said the kidnappers were gone.

The male suspect was described as 5’5”, 180 pounds, between 25 and 30 years old and wore a purple shirt and brown pants. The female suspect was said to be around 5’3”, 200 pounds, 30-35 years of age, and wore a blue long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans.

If you have any information about the suspects, call Miami Police at 305-603-6370 or Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
