Arrest Made in Dog Snatching of Yorkie T-Cup Named Monster: Miami Police

Yorkie T-Cup was dognapped from Miami restaurant March 13: police

A Yorkie t-cup named Monster is back with its owners and an arrest has been made in the dog's snatching, Miami Police said Monday night.

Wilfredo Torres, 49, was arrested and charged with grand theft, dealing in stolen property and accessory after the fact, police and jail records showed.

He was being held on $20,000 bond and it was unknown whether he has an attorney.

Earlier, police asked for the public's help in finding the man they said stole the dog from outside a restaurant last week.

The dog snatching happened March 13 while the pooch's owner was having dinner at Mykonos at 1201 Southwest 22nd Street, police said.

Police said Monster's owner was sitting outside but had gone inside the restaurant for a second leaving Monster inside her bag on the seat. When she returned, Monster has vanished.

A suspect in the case was seen fleeing the scene on a bicycle and was captured on surveillance video, police said. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 20-25 years old, who was wearing blue jeans, a black shirt, white cap and black backpack.
