Miami-based DJ and producer Cedric Gervais says he's still processing his first Grammy win for his smash hit remix, “Summertime Sadness,” featuring singer Lana Del Rey.
“It feels amazing. It’s one of the biggest accomplishments for musicians. I’m still processing it. It’s an amazing feeling,” he told NBC 6.
Gervais, 34, who was born in France, has been a Miami resident since he was 15 years old and says Miami is his home.
“I love everything about Miami, I call Miami home. I been here for so many years, 17 years now. My career started here. I love the people living here, I love my city, I love the Heat, I love everything about the city,” Gervais said.
At Thursday’s Miami Heat game, Gervais was featured on the Jumbotron at the AmericanAirlines Arena.
“It was pretty amazing you know, being such a Heat fan and supporting my team so many years, and way before LeBron came in. You know I‘ve always been a Miami Heat fan,” Gervais said. “I think it was as amazing as winning the Grammy, you know for me.”
He said he did not expect “Summertime Sadness” to become such a hit. The track sold over five million singles within a year.

“When I did Summertime Sadness, I did the record purely for the love of the dance floor and my DJ friends, I wanted my DJ friends to play it and I was ok with that,” Gervais said.
Gervais revealed he is currently working on a new track with pop star Miley Cyrus for her new song, “Adore You.” The track is set to be released in March.
Ultra Music Festival announced on Wednesday that Gervais will be returning to the three-day festival. Gervais said he will perform with a special guest on day one of the festival and then his one-hour set on day three of the festival.
He is on tour and will celebrate his Grammy award at Club Story in Miami Beach on Friday. Tickets range from $40 to $60.
