Miami Woman Killed in Rollover Crash on Palmetto: FHP

A Miami woman was killed in a rollover crash on the Palmetto early Sunday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

It happened just after 3 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the Palmetto (SR 826) near Northwest 103rd Street.

FHP said 24-year-old Ochun Consuelo Gutierrez lost control of her vehicle, collided with a concrete wall and then overturned.

Gutierrez, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene.

A 25-year-old female passenger was airlifted to Jackson Trauma with serious injuries. She was wearing her seat belt.

FHP is investigating what caused Gutierrez to lose control. They said it's unknown whether alcohol was involved.

The crash scene on the Palmetto blocked traffic for many hours on Sunday morning, causing massive delays for drivers. The area has since reopened.
