Miami Woman Robbed, Dragged in Supermarket Parking Lot

A woman who was dragged in a parking lot outside the Presidente Supermarket in Miami said she doesn't want to leave her house with a purse or phone "ever again."

Ethel Viñeda was robbed outside of the neighborhood grocery store on July 12 at around 6:45 p.m. Surveillage footage showed Viñeda putting items in her car along NW 36th Street and 22nd Avenue before the suspect pulled up next to her.

The man, described as a Hispanic male between 35 and 40 years old, pushed Viñeda to the ground before wrangling her purse away. Viñeda can be seen trying to stop the man as he escaped in a gray four door Honda Accord.

"I stuck my hand through the open window to get my purse, and as he grabbed me, I hit him with my keys," she said.

Miami Police are searching for the suspect, who is described as being clean-shaven, with a slim build and about 5-feet-8-inches tall.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Miami Police Department or Miami-Dade CrimeStoppers.
