Mom Arrested After Daughters Found Trying to Sell Their Toys

A central Florida mother has been arrested after authorities say they found her two daughters going door to door trying to sell their toys.

The Osceola County Sheriff's Office says two girls, ages 7 and 9, were walking about half a mile from their home Thursday. The girls told deputies they were selling their toys "to help mommy stay in the house."

The deputies found the mother, April Emery, at home sleeping. When authorities awoke her, she allegedly said she was angry because the girls had forgotten to wake her up so she could take them to school.

She was charged with child neglect without great bodily harm. The girls are staying with a family member while child welfare officials investigate.
