Mom Left Girls in Disney Store, Went Shopping in Mall: Pembroke Pines Police

A woman was arrested after police say she left her young daughter and niece alone in the Disney Store while she shopped in the Pembroke Lakes Mall.

Marjorie Cadet, 32, was charged with two counts of child neglect without great bodily harm following her arrest Saturday at the mall in Pembroke Pines.

Cadet was booked into the Broward County jail and later released. It was unknown if she's hired an attorney.

According to an arrest report, Cadet told her daughter and niece, ages 7 and 10, to stay in the store until she was done shopping. An employee saw them running around in the store unattended and asked them where their parents were, and the girls said they didn't know, the report said.

The employee called mall security, and Pembroke Pines Police officers arrived. Cadet went to the security office and told an officer she had to change her infant daughter's diaper and went to get snacks in the food court for the kids, the report said.

Cadet said she knew she was away from the kids for an hour, the report said.
