Moore Leads Dolphins to Easy Victory Over Jets

Matt Moore gave the Dolphins a tremendous effort in their 34-13 win over the Jets on Saturday

Matt Moore put on a show to help his Miami Dolphins beat the New York Jets 34-13 on Saturday.

Moore who was starting for the first time in five years, set a new career-high with four touchdown passes. After Ryan Tannehill suffered a knee injury last week, Moore was handed the starting quarterback job for the foreseeable future. The veteran backup showed no signs of rust and gave Miami hope for a playoff run.

The Dolphins are now 9-5 with this win and are positioned for a chance at ending their long postseason drought. Miami still has two tough games remaining on the schedule, and this was a game it simply had to have. The Jets are one of the worst teams in the league this year, especially in their home stadium.

The third quarter was a key reason for Miami's victory as it outscored New York 21-0 in that quarter alone. When the second half began, it was anyone's ballgame with Miami up 13-10. The fourth quarter featured some slower offensive possessions with the Dolphins working the clock.

Moore ended up with 236 yards on a 12-18 day along with the aforementioned four touchdowns. The QB did throw one interception, but it had little effect on the result of the game. Moore had a 126.1 passer rating in the finest game of his NFL career.

The Dolphins had a solid game defensively as well with two interceptions and three sacks. Cameron Wake and Tony Lippett each had a pick, while the sacks were picked up by Wake, Isa Abdul-Quddus and Neville Hewitt.

Miami will play next Saturday against the Buffalo Bills in New York. Frigid weather conditions and snow are possible in what will be another important game for Miami.
