Brightline to Expand Number of Daily Round Trips on Starting in August

Officials have announced that service will expand the number of daily round trips from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach.

What to Know

  • Starting Aug. 6, the Brightline will offer 16 daily round trips from Monday through Friday.
  • Although the weekday schedule is expanding, weekend service remains the same.

Travelers who use the Brightline high-speed train service will have more options when it comes to getting from Miami to West Palm Beach.

Officials have announced that service will expand the number of daily round trips from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach in order to provide passengers more leeway.

Starting Aug. 6, the privately funded service owned by Florida East Coast Railway will offer 16 daily round trips from Monday through Friday. The earliest train will depart from West Palm Beach at 5:30 a.m. and the last train will leave Miami at 11:10 p.m. weekdays, according to Brightline worker, Ali Soule.

Although the weekday schedule is expanding, weekend service remains the same.

The high-speed rail line has been in the spotlight after four people have been struck or killed since service first began in May.

Brightline has also come under fire from some residents who live near the tracks it operates on over the volume of train horns that are used – something that will be more noticeable with the number of routes rising each day.

Tickets for the expanded schedule go on sale in August. For more information, visit GoBrightline.com.
