Morning After Heat Games Feels Like Hangover For Some Fans

The games for the NBA Finals are tipping off after 9 p.m.

From the excitement of the NBA playoffs to the thrill of the NBA Finals, Miami Heat fans are always happy to show their support.

But with the championship series games starting after 9 p.m., the morning after can feel like a hangover for some.

After late-night games like Thursday’s night high-energy, high-stress Game 2, some people tend to feel a little sluggish, especially if the have to work the next morning.

Michelle Edeslberg has a way out to avoid that morning drag, however.

"I actually went to sleep early and TiVOed it, so I got to wake up and enjoy the game," she said.

Joan said she's a Boston Celtics fan, but loves staying up late to watch the Heat even if she has work the next day.

"But I have a great job where I have flexible hours and all they do is look at me when I walk in the door and say 'Oh you watched the game last night, didn't ya?'" she said.

Whether you like the way the games are scheduled or not, you’ve got to stick out, said Vinny, a bartender at the Octopus Garden Lounge in Hollywood.

"If you are a true Miami Heat fan then you'll stay up as late as it takes to get the end of that last quarter over, because it’s coming down to the last quarter every game now, isn't it?” he said. “We get up in the morning with a smile even though we're tired.”
