Mosquito Traps Being Placed in Little Havana to Combat Zika

As the fight against Zika continues across South Florida, one area of Miami is getting some help in the battle – hopefully keeping it from becoming the next transmission zone.

Mayor Tomas Regalado and Commissioner Frank Carollo will receive the first DynaTrap mosquito traps donated to the city. The traps will be placed at Centro Mater, located at 418 SW 4th Avenue.

Currently, the transmission zones are located on Miami Beach, between 28th Street and 8th Street, and in Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood, spanning from NW 63rd Street to 79th Street and NW 10th Avenue to Miami Avenue.
