The mother of a 6-year-old boy who was killed in a hit and run crash in Miramar made a tearful plea for the driver to turn himself in Tuesday.
"Just tell us what happened, we just want to know what happened, that will bring some kind of closure," Monique Batchelor, mother of Deandre, said at a news conference at the Miramar Police Department. "I don't want to have to think that we'll never find out why, we'll never find out why you just kept going."
Police say Binns was crossing Miramar Parkway near 62nd Avenue with a family member around 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 9 when he was struck by a vehicle and thrown onto the car's hood. The boy fell off the car and was run over, and was taken to Joe DiMaggio Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver kept going eastbound on Miramar Parkway, turned south on State Road 7 and disappeared, police said.
"I have no hatred towards you...I just want you to come forward," Batchelor said, fighting back tears. "I don't want it to end here for him, I want justice, I want to find the person. I want someone, you know, any information."
Batchelor said her son, who attended Renaissance Charter School, was very smart and loved going to school. She also played a recording of Deandre singing.
"Deandre was my everything, he was my shining star, he was my leader, he helped me when I needed it," she said. "He used to talk to me as if that was my best friend, he understood everything. When I was down, when I was sad and going through my hard times and I'm crying, he was there to talk to me."
Police haven't made an arrest but said Thursday they've looked at hundreds of hours of video and more is coming in, and they continue to receive tips. On Monday, they released photos of a "vehicle of interest" in the crash.
Batchelor said she just wants justice.
"He was only six, he was innocent," she said. "No one deserved it and especially Deandre, he did not deserve this."
