Motorcyclist Killed in Fiery Hit-and-Run Crash in Hollywood

Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who killed a motorcyclist in a fiery crash in Hollywood, police said.

The crash happened Sunday night around 8:15 in the area of Washington Street and S. 56th Avenue.

According to police, a woman who was driving a truck with a child passenger collided with the motorcycle, which was driven by 30-year-old Jason Swanson.

The woman got out of her truck and looked at the victim on the ground then got back in her vehicle and fled the scene, police said.

When officers arrived they found Swanson on fire in the middle of the street. The officers tried to extinguish the flames but Swanson was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said the woman was driving a dark colored 1987-2010 Ford Explorer Sport Trac that likely has damage on the driver's side and or passenger's side. The child in the car with her was between 8-12 years old.

A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with info is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
