Motorcyclist Surrenders After Police Chase in Miami-Dade

A motorcyclist surrendered to police following an active pursuit in Miami-Dade Tuesday morning.

Homestead Police pursued two motorcyclists after they hit a police car, officials said. They caught the first motorcyclist at 137th Avenue and 282nd Street.

The second motorcyclist was seen speeding away from police on the Florida Turnpike around 10:15 a.m. The pursuit continued for roughly 30 minutes.

The motorcyclist parked under a tree in a residential area around 137th Avenue and Tamiami Trail then took off running. He was seen jumping fences in an attempt to get away.

After a few minutes, the motorcyclist laid down in the street and put his hands behind his back, surrendering to Miami-Dade Police in the area of 138th Avenue ant Southwest Ninth Street.

Aerial footage showed the man being placed in handcuffs and put into the back of a Miami-Dade Police car.
