Police responded after multiple people were shot in Miami Monday, officials said.

The shooting was reported in the 3600 block of Southwest 17th Terrace, Miami Police officials said.

Witnesses reported seeing three people shot.

"We were out here working and we heard like six straight shots, came out here, heard another four," witness Alex Hernandez said. "Saw some guy come out with a gun, some other guy behind him stumbling. He fell down and some chick came out screaming."

The gunshots were heard around the block around 2 p.m.

"Like firecrackers, like shots, like a shooting, but I was joking and then police came," Maria Uribe said.

Family members said one of the victims was 17-year-old Joshua Wright, who died from his injuries.

Some victims were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, but their conditions were unknown.

Miami Police's crime scene truck was at the scene Monday afternoon. Officials didn't give many details.

"It's a puzzle we're putting together," Miami Police Sgt. Freddie Cruz said. "I can confirm multiple people were shot, we don't know the motive, it could be drug related, jealousy, domestic violence, we don't know at this moment."

Police were also at a second scene at a nearby gas station that may be connected to the shooting.

Tuesday morning, a tow truck hauled off a parked car at the crime scene, and a short time later, a second tow truck pulled up to pull away another car from the neighborhood.
