Multiple Vehicles Hit During Hollywood Chase

Three police cruisers and a suspect’s car ended up wrecked Wednesday after a brief police chase in Hallandale Beach and Hollywood.

Around noon Wednesday, Hallandale Beach Police were on patrol and noticed a suspicious car that they quickly found out was stolen. The driver of the car refused to pull over and officers then started on a low speed chase.

“I see police cars running up and down both sides of the road here and then all of a sudden; they spun around down by the gas station,” said witness Richard Peeples. “They quickly circles, had him on both side, and rammed him and turned him around.”

The suspect’s car wound up hitting three police vehicles in Hallandale Beach, one from the Broward Sheriff’s Office and two from Hollywood Police. As the suspect made his way from Hallandale Beach to Hollywood, police said a second vehicle got involved in the chase.

“Another black Jeep vehicle was attempting to get in the middle, or in between, the officer’s vehicle and this vehicle. So we believe it was trying to assist,” said Hallandale Beach Police Pedro Abut.

The chase ended when the suspect’s car collided with one of the officers who were chasing him and he was taken into custody to face multiple charges.
