A couple in Central Florida will get a Thanksgiving meal with all the fixings – thanks to a local mailman they are still trying to locate after he dropped off the surprise meal.

Lee Mathis said he was at his Clearwater home while his girlfriend, Janet Wetherington, was at bible study on Wednesday when the unknown mailman dropped off a bin full of all the turkey day treats – including the bird itself.

“When he stepped up at that door, and I opened it, it blew my mind,” Mathis, who is disabled, told NBC affiliate WFLA-TV. “I thought we were just going to have a normal day, have a sandwich or something. But now I’ve got something to look forward to!”

Mathis said he let the mailman leave before he was able to get his name or ask him a simple question: why did he do this?

“I didn’t know anything else to say, except thank you,” he said. “I’d really like to give him a big hug.”

The couple said they will cook up the meal and make sure to pay the gift forward by giving out some of the food to their neighbors in need.

“Ain’t no way we can eat a 15-pound turkey,” Mathis laughed.

“Yeah, you can only eat so much turkey,” Wetherington added.
