A NFL player found himself behind bars over the weekend after an alleged confrontation with a Miami Police officer outside the Rolling Loud Music Festival – an officer who recently found himself in the middle of a stalking case with one Miami resident.
Robby Anderson, a wide receiver for the New York Jets, was taken into custody Sunday evening and charged with two counts – including resisting an officer with violence.
According to the arrest report, the 24-year-old Anderson – a South Florida native who attended South Plantation High School – was fighting with security during the third day of the event after being told to leave. Anderson was later confronted by Lt. Javier Ortiz and told to sit on the ground.
Anderson refused and allegedly pushed Ortiz, after which he was taken to the ground and continued to fight police before being arrested and taken away.
Ortiz, who serves as president for the Miami Police Department’s union, had a temporary restraining order placed on him earlier this year after he posted private information on social media for a woman, Claudia Castillo, who had taped a Miami-Dade officer speeding and confronted him before posting that video online.
Ortiz was later able to get that order removed and was able to return to his job after being relieved of duty with pay.
