Broncos defensive end Elvis Dumervil was arrested in Miami Beach Saturday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, police confirmed with NBC 6.
Dumervil, 28, was arrested on 745 Collins Avenue shortly before 6 p.m. together with Andy Aguste, 27, who is not believed to be affiliated with the NFL.
Dumervil bonded out of jail early Sunday morning on $7,500.
The Broncos issued a statement and said, "Our organization is aware of the matter and is continuing to gather the facts. This is a very serious allegation, and we will thoroughly review the details while the legal process runs its course."
Dumervil graduated from Miami Jackson Senior High School.
It was not immediately known if he had an attorney.
