Hurricane Nadine is moving eastward quickly through the central Atlantic, the National Hurricane Center announced.
As of 11 a.m. Sunday, the storm was situated 985 miles west-southwest of the Azores and moving at 23 mph. It had maximum sustained winds of 80 mph.
Nadine is expected to turn toward the northeast and decrease in speed over the next few days, according to the NHC.
Also in the Atlantic is an elongated area of low pressure located about 400 miles east of the Lesser Antilles. The system has a 20 percent chance of becoming a tropical cyclone in the next two days as it moves westward at 15 mph, the NHC said. The area continues to produce thunderstorms and heavy rains.
