Police are investigating after vandals stole a baby Jesus and spray painted a Nativity scene at a Coral Gables business.
The vandalism was discovered Wednesday morning at the Alhambra Towers at 121 Alhambra Plaza. Most of the figures in the display were painted blue and yellow.
Coral Gables Police are investigating the incident. The Allen Morris Company, which manages the property, said they're working with police in the investigation.
"I would hope that whoever stole it (the baby Jesus) did it as a prank and would be willing to returng the figure of the baby Jesus," building manager Allen Morris said. "I was so angry that someone would deface something so spiritual to so many people."
Coral Gables Police said they are investigating this as an act of vandalism and not a hate crime.
