A new Haulover lifeguard station is now open in Miami Beach at 10800 Collins Avenue.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Miami-Dade parks, The Recreation and Open Spaces Department and Miami-Dade County Commissioner Sally A. Heyman celebrated the grand opening of the new station on Wednesday morning.
The 10,500 square-foot facility comes with a new landmark tower, office space, training room, a locker room, restrooms, beach observation deck, and a garage that will be used for lifeguard vehicles and equipment.
Memorabilia and lifeguard history will be showcased inside the ground floor lobby that is open to the public. In addition, public meetings and educational classes will be offered inside the new conference rooms.
