New Pictures of Shark In Pool Are Part of FWC Investigation

New pictures of a shark swimming in a family pool are part of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission’s investigation into incidents of shark abuse, according to NBC affiliate WPTV.

The pictures, which appear to be screenshots of video posted to the social media platform Snapchat, show a shark swimming in the pool with an unidentified man. The caption says “new pet bull.”

A blog post on a local news site called The Scoop News claimed the pool pictures feature the same men in the shark-dragging video.

The FWC confirmed to WPTV that it has seen the pictures and is using them as part of the investigation.

The new images were added to the investigation about a week after the FWC announced it was looking into a video of a shark being dragged behind a boat traveling at high speeds.

None of the men in the video have been charged to this point, according to the report.

Sarasota resident Michael Wenzel was the captain of the boat at the time of the shark-dragging incident, according to WPTV.

The pictures are the latest in a series of shark abuse acts. In addition to the boat footage, a different video that surfaced shows a man drinking beer from underneath a shark’s body.

More than 140,000 people have signed a petition that states “this sociopathic behavior demands attention and prevention.”

Earlier this week, a watch party for the new MTV series “Siesta Key” was cancelled after one of the show’s cast members said on Instagram that he was friends with one of the men featured in the shark-dragging video.
