No Bond for Man in Deadly Check Store Robbery

Stanley Beasley allegedly executed a check cashing store clerk before a shootout with police

The man accused of executing a hostage in an attempted robbery earlier this month was ordered held on no bond in Broward Couny jail.

Stanley Beasley, 33, faces charges of armed robbery and kidnapping and premeditated murder for the Aug. 10 incident, which ended with 25-year-old Clairemathe Geffrard dead.

Beasley was shot several times by authorities when he tried to make his escape from the Check Cashing Store, located at 2927 W. Sunrise Blvd.

According to an arrest report, a bag full of money and a gun was found near Beasley after he was shot in the parking lot of the store.

Another man, Jorge Aguilar, was also hit by a bullet from the shootout and is recovering in the hospital. Authorities said Aguilar was an innocent bystander.

Geffrard, 25, was the mother of a 1-year-old son. When authorities stormed the store, they found her inside suffering from a gunshot to the head. She died a few hours later at the hospital.

It was unclear if Beasley had an attorney Monday.
