North Miami Dollar Store Armed Robbery Caught on Video

Police looking for man who robbed store at gunpoint

Authorities are looking for a brazen armed robber who was caught on video ripping off a North Miami dollar store at gunpoint.

The robbery happened shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday at the Family Dollar at 401 Northeast 125th Street when the man entered the store brandishing a firearm, North Miami Police said.

Video from inside the store showed the suspect grab a woman as she tried to run out the front door. In another clip he's seen escorting a woman at gunpoint around the store and accosting an employee at a cash register armed with the gun.

Yet another camera angle showed customers and employees laying face-down as the man ordered others to the ground at gunpoint.

The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police said a similar robbery happened at the same store last month.

"We don't know if he is local or comes from somewhere else, we have no way of knowing that," North Miami Police Det. Felix Guadarrama said. "Just because he left on foot doesn't mean he was on foot, there could've been a car around the corner."
