North Miami Police Arrest Third Man in Rape of Pregnant Woman

Police said Kevin McNair, 24, was taken into custody a day after two other suspects appeared in court.

North Miami Police said Thursday night they have taken a third suspect into custody in connection with the rape of a pregnant woman at Johnson & Wales University off-campus housing.

Police said Kevin McNair, 24, was taken into custody a day after Ligunson Edmond and Jacques Davis Jean, both 21, appeared in court on sexual battery charges in the Dec. 22 incident.

The victim, who is eight months pregnant and married, was raped by the three men during an arranged photo session at Edmond’s home at 1735 NE 124th St., according to police.

She responded to an online ad from “Lady’s South Florida” on Craigslist before the sexual assault, police said Thursday.

McNair is charged with two counts of sexual assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury and is being held on no bond, according to Miami-Dade Corrections records. He was booked at 7:11 p.m.

Edmond and Jean were arrested Tuesday. They were both appointed public defenders and will have an arraignment on Jan. 21.
