Northeast Florida Man Sentenced to Life for Love Triangle Murder

A northeast Florida man convicted of murdering his rival in a love triangle was sentenced to life in prison.

State Attorney for Florida's 7th Judicial Circuit R.J. Larizza says 27-year-old Justin Adam Boyles was sentenced to two concurrent life sentences for the murder of Edward Scott Mullener.

Boyles was convicted in December for second-degree murder and kidnapping.

Prosecutors say Boyles and co-conspirator Charles Massey tortured and beat Mullener to death before setting the 54-year-old and his car on fire. Massey was previously sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in the murder.

Authorities say Boyles was angry that Mullener was romantically involved with the same woman Boyles was also seeing.
