It looks like the only thing Brown will be able to do for the Dolphins is rehab for next season.

The Miami Dolphins have confirmed they placed star running back Ronnie Brown on the injured reserved list, ending his season because of a foot injury suffered against Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Brown missed most of the 2007 season with a knee injury. Brown's loss is a crippling blow to the Dolphins, who at 4-5, are trying to make a push for the playoffs.

Brown was the conductor of the vaunted Wildcat offense that gave the Dolphins a tactical advantage against just about any defense it faced. But injuries have all but turned the Wildcat into a tamed pussy cat.

Earlier this year, the Wildcat lost its major big play threat in Patrick Cobbs and now the triggerman could be shelved for the year.

The Dolphins play Carolina on Thursday and Ricky Williams is expected to get the bulk of the carries, but he probably won't run any Wildcat plays.

At this point, the Wildcat is all out of lives.
