Oakland Park Gas Station Robbed at Gunpoint: Police

A gas station clerk working the overnight shift in Oakland Park had some frightening moments early Tuesday as he was held up at gunpoint in an attempted robbery, according to deputies with the Broward County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies tell NBC 6 South Florida that two men armed with a knife and handgun held up the clerk at a BP gas station located at 2091 West Oakland Park Blvd. in Oakland Park.

The clerk refused to give money and the men shot at the door of the gas station shattering the glass before taking off, according to deputies.

The clerk was shaken up but thankfully was not injured, according to police.

Deputies are on the scene now and are investigating and searching for the gunmen.
