One Dead After I-95 Crash in Broward

A deadly crash on I-95 closed all southbound lanes in Broward for hours Saturday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 35-year-old Marlene Bernard was traveling south just after 7 p.m. when she lost control of her SUV near the Hallandale Beach Blvd exit. The vehicle veered to the right, striking 53-year-old Ronald Dwayne Griffin's pick-up truck.
 
Both Griffin and Bernard were ejected from their vehicles. According to FHP, both drivers were transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood where Griffin was pronounced dead.
 
The southbound lanes were re-opened 4 hours after the crash. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
