Hallandale Beach police are investigating the shooting death of a 20-year-old man after a robbery at a mobile home park, a police spokesman said Saturday.
The victim, identified as Lazaro Cuesta, was gunned down about 10:30 a.m. Saturday, when two robbers arrived at a residence at the Golden Trio mobile home neighborhood in the 7000 block of Southwest Eighth Avenue, according to Hallandale police spokesman Maj. Thomas Honan.
Before the robbers showed, five people were at the home: the victim, two other visitors and two people who live there, Honan said. The male robbers fled after the killing, he said. Saturday, police were questioning witnesses.
Cuesta’s family stood at the crime scene, mourning him. His grandmother told NBC 6 that her grandson had played drums in his high school marching band and had wanted to pursue a career as a firefighter.
