Women Accused of Pepper-Spraying, Robbing Man on Miami Beach

Jazmine Fortson, 25, and Tyler Bourland, 23, were arrested Sunday on armed robbery charges, according to arrest reports

Two women visiting Miami Beach for the weekend are now behind bars after police say they pepper-sprayed and robbed a man at his hotel.

Jazmine Fortson, 25, and Tyler Bourland, 23, were arrested Sunday on armed robbery charges, according to arrest reports.

According to the reports the women befriended the man on the street as he was walking to the Marseilles Hotel on Collins Avenue near 17th Street.

The women invited themselves to his room and as he was opening the door, Bourland said "spray him" and Fortson snatched the cell phone from his hand, taking $250 in cash that was in the cover, the reports said.

After running away from the Marseilles Hotel, the defendants were identified from the victim’s descriptions, the reports said. They were both in front of the Loews Hotel on 16th Street and Collins, where officers arrested them on the spot.

In court Monday, prosecutors said Fortson has an address in Atlanta but a driver's license from Hawaii, while Bourland has a Los Angeles address but a Nevada driver's license.

Prosecutors also said Fortson doesn’t have any prior contact with the law but Bourland does has numerous prior convictions for prostitution.

Both women were being held on bonds of $7,500 each Monday.
