Pair Arrested After Yelling Expletives at Art Basel Event: Police

A man and woman who shouted expletives at an Art Basel event in Miami Beach were arrested Sunday, police said.

They were heard yelling "f--- Art Basel, f--- all you rich people," the arrest reports said. At one point, Sherrard tried to pull a "prosthetic penis sex toy" out of his pants, the reports said.

Kalan Sherrard, 27, and Maria Valenzuela, 20, were both arrested on disorderly conduct and resisting an officer without violence charges, according to arrest reports released Monday.

Sherrard and Valenzuela were booked into jail and later released. It was unknown if they have attorneys.

According to the reports, Sherrard, a New York street performer, and Valenzuela, from Miami, were part of a demonstration at an event at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

Valenzuela was arrested after she approached an officer who was trying to subdue Sherrard "from his rear in a threatening manner," the reports said.

Video of the arrests was posted to YouTube late Sunday.
