Panhandle Amusement Park Being Evicted for Failure to Pay Rent

The Miracle Strip amusement park is being evicted from the property it is leasing on Panama City Beach.

The News Herald reports the landowner says the amusement park owes more than $328,000 in back rent.

The newspaper reports property owner William R. Dozier and BCWDS Holdings LLC filed a lawsuit for eviction of Miracle Strip Carousel on Oct. 27.

The park has been closed since September.

According to court records a summons was delivered to Jenny Meeks, the registered agent for the company, on Oct. 27. The company had 20 days to respond. A default judgment was entered against Miracle Strip last week for ``failure to answer or respond'' to the complaint.

Miracle Strip has been a popular attraction in on the beach for decades.
