Panthers Keep Streak Alive With Seventh Straight Win

The Panthers extended their season-long winning streak to seven games on Tuesday

The Florida Panthers kept their winning streak alive with a 3-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday.

The win was the seventh in a row for Florida which ties a franchise record. This marks the first time the Panthers have won seven straight since 2008 and it is the fourth time overall. The win also keeps Florida atop the Atlantic Division with 46 points. The Panthers are now in second place in the Eastern Conference as well.

As has been the case during this exceptional month, there were multiple contributions in what was another team-win. Florida has looked energized and focused while enjoying support from its fans. BB&T Center was sold out for Tuesday's win and the crowd was loud from the start.

With his team down by one late in the first period, Aleksander Barkov put home his tenth goal of the season. The goal came during a Power Play and was assisted on by Dmitry Kulikov and Aaron Ekblad.

Just over a minute into the second period, Jaromir Jagr put Florida ahead with his 11th goal of the year. The veteran was helped on the score by Jonathan Huberdeau and Barkov.

The day would become even more eventful for Barkov when he put the game away with his second score of the day in the third period. The goal came at the 8:53 mark and it was Barkov's 11th of the season. Assists on the goal went to Erik Gudbranson and Huberdeau.

Roberto Luongo sent away 27 of the 28 shots sent his way in another solid game for the veteran goalie.

The Panthers will look to make it eight in a row when they take on the New York Rangers on Saturday in Sunrise.
