Panthers Lose Fourth Straight

The Panthers dropped a fourth consecutive game with their 5-2 loss to Boston on Saturday

The Florida Panthers fell for a fourth straight time with a 5-2 loss to the Boston Bruins on Saturday.

Florida was eliminated after a loss on Thursday and now has four games remaining on the year. With this defeat, the Panthers fell to 33-34-11 on the season. Florida has lost six of the last eight games it has played overall and has only won four times in the past month.

Thomas Vanek tied the game at one with his 17th goal at the 1:38 mark of the second period. Vanek had help on the game-tying score from Nick Bjugstad and Colton Sceviour.

After Boston went back on top, Jaromir Jagr tied the game once more. Jagr's power play goal was his 16th of the season and it came with assists from Keith Yandle and Jonathan Marchessault.

With Roberto Luongo and James Reimer both injured, Reto Berra was once again in the net for Florida. Berra ended up with 24 saves in 28 chances and is now 0-4 since joining the team. With Florida out of contention, Berra will likely continue to see work.

Florida went 1-4 on power plays in the loss and also held the Bruins to only one goal in four advantages.

Florida will start the final homestand of the season against the Montreal Canadiens on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
