Panthers' Rough Trip Continues With Loss to Bruins

The Panthers fell for the fourth time on their current road trip with a loss to the Bruins on Monday

The Florida Panthers inched closer to the end of their road trip with a 4-3 overtime loss to the Boston Bruins on Monday.

Florida has played five games in a row on the road and has one to go. On the trip thus far, the Panthers have amassed a record of 1-2-2 and have fallen to 12-11-3 overall on the season. This trip has seen a coaching change and sporadic play for Florida.

After Boston jumped out to a 1-0 lead, Florida tied the game with a second period goal from Jaromir Jagr. Mark Pysyk and Aaron Ekblad assisted Jagr on his fifth goal of the season.

Boston regained the lead during the second period and held it until the 7:54 mark of the third period. That was when Aleksander Barkov tied the game once again with his fourth goal of the season. Assisting on Barkov's goal was Reilly Smith.

The Bruins would take the lead once more roughly five minutes later and it seemed Florida was headed for a tough defeat. That was until Jason Demers made it a 3-3 game with his fourth goal of the season. Assisting on the score at the 18:31 mark of the third period were Vincent Trocheck and Michael Matheson.

Boston would put home the game-winner early into the overtime portion of the game. Roberto Luongo ended up with 32 saves on his 36 chances.

The long trip will finally come to an end on Tuesday when the Panthers visit the Flyers in Philadelphia.
