Panthers Win Final Home Game of Season

The Panthers beat the Sabres in their final home game of the season on Saturday

The Florida Panthers finished the home portion of their schedule with a 3-0 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday.

With the win, the Panthers finished the 2016-17 season with a 19-19-3 record at BB&T Center. It was an up and down season for Florida and the team's home mark makes that evident. The Panthers struggled to find consistency all year long, even on their home ice.

Nick Bjugstad put Florida on the board in the second period, with his seventh goal of the season. Bjugstad had help on the goal from Thomas Vanek and Reilly Smith.

Later in the second period, Jonathan Huberdeau put Florida ahead 2-0 with his ninth goal of the season. Jaromir Jagr picked up an assist on Huberdeau's power play goal

Huberdeau would add another goal during the third period to give Florida a three-goal lead. Huberdeau's tenth goal of the season, had another assist on it from Jagr.

James Reimer was in the net for the home finale and he stopped all 30 attempts sent his way.

The Panthers will play their final game of the season on Sunday in Washington against the Capitals at 7:00 p.m.
