    According to police, 21-year-old Franciso Nunez was crossing the southbound lanes of Flamingo Road when he was struck by a 2001 Saturn driven by 68-year-old Evelio Munoz.

    A pedestrian was hospitalized with serious injuries after he was struck by a car in Pembroke Pines Friday morning.

    The crash happened around 6:22 a.m. in the 800 block of Flamingo Road, Pembroke Pines Police said.

    According to police, 21-year-old Francisco Nunez was crossing the southbound lanes of Flamingo Road when he was struck by a 2001 Saturn driven by 68-year-old Evelio Munoz.

    Nunez was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital with serious injuries. Munoz stayed at the scene.

    No charges are pending but police are investigating the crash.
