Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Hallandale

The pedestrian was a 70-year-old man, officials said

A two-car crash on Ocean Drive in Hallandale Beach left one person dead Saturday morning, police said.

According to the Hallandale Police department, an elderly woman was driving southbound on A1A and attempting to make a U-turn when she accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake.

The woman’s car spun out of control, struck the median and another car travelling southbound, police said.

The second car then crashed into a pedestrian walking along the sidewalk.

Crash Kills Family After Marlins Game

The pedestrian, a 70-year-old man was pronounced dead on the scene, officials said. His name has not been released.

The drivers of both cars were taken to the hospital but their conditions are not known.
