Police said they busted a peeping Tom at a Coral Springs apartment complex – and neighbors say they are creeped out.
An Atlantic Springs neighborhood guard caught Scott Iglehart, 50, peering in the window of a 16-year-old girl Monday night, Coral Springs Police said.
“He then confronts this individual, startles him and says, 'Hey, what are you doing, you know what you're doing is wrong,’” Sgt. Dave Kirkland said.
Police said neighbors had been complaining about a prowler for some time, and Iglehart matched descriptions given to security guards.
“He's not going to admit to it clearly, but the security guard observed him, took the time to watch him for a period of time, and saw him raise his hand up above his eyebrows. So, it was obvious to the security guard what he was doing,” Kirkland said.
Iglehart was ordered to his apartment – where he was met by police, and where he turned over his marijuana. He told them he wasn't peeping, but smoking marijuana, and said he crouched in bushes outside the window to hide, according to police.
Neighbors said they are not so convinced.
“I mean, we could just be coming out of our house, our bedroom or something, and he's looking at us. It's really creepy,” said Cheyenne Heidger, who was with her sister Sheila Toorgeman. “You never know what that person could do later.”
Told that the alleged peeper is 50, Heidger said, “That's the creepiest thing I ever heard of.”
Iglehart faces one count of voyeurism and one count of marijuana possession, police said. It was not immediately known whether he has an attorney.
