Perfect FCAT Score Earns Miami Foster Kid Disney Trip

A foster child from Miami who got a perfect score on her FCAT exam won a trip to the most magical place on Earth.
The girl, a third-grader at West River Elementary, was treated to a Disney World trip after notching the perfect score on the state test in math and reading.
It's a welcome trip for the unidentified youngster, who was removed from her birth parents home just last year because they were involved in drugs and gangs.
Our Kids, the Miami-Dade based agency that places at-risk kids in foster homes, surprised the girl and her foster parents with the trip.
The agency said the girl witnessed a lot of violence at her home but has excelled in her studies regardless.
