Manhunt For Suspect Behind Alleyway Murder in Hollywood

Police were called out Wednesday afternoon to a shooting that happened in Hollywood. The gunfire erupted on South 9th Street and 21st Avenue.

One person, 43-year-old Marcus Parker, was found shot and killed in an alleyway.

A perimeter, which stretched for several blocks, was set up as police searched for an armed suspect. Officers in full tactical gear with K-9's fanned the area.

The deadly shooting happened near a beauty supply store. The store owner, Ali, said he never imagined a shooting would happen so close to his business.

"We have inssues, a small fight or all that, but gunshots. That's very sad," said Ali.

Ali said he knew the victim, adding that he even spoke with the man earlier in the day. "He's a good guy, not like a troublermaker."

Authorities believe the gunman fled on foot. They have no description of the suspect and no word on a motive.

"He is considered armed and potentially dangerous, so we are asking for the public's assistance in trying to find him," said Jaime Hernandez, Hollywood Police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
