A 76-year-old man was hospitalized after he crashed his car into an apartment building in Miami.

A 76-year-old man was hospitalized after he crashed his car into an apartment building in Miami.

An elderly man was hospitalized after his car slammed into a building in Miami Monday morning, officials said.

The incident happened at the building in the 1600 block of Southwest 37th Avenue. Footage showed a metal gate damaged at the building.

Officials said the 76-year-old man was trying to get out of the building's garage when he crashed into the gate and became trapped and had to be rescued.

Miami Fire Rescue officials said the man was taken to South Miami Hospital. His identity and condition were unknown.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
