A man was hospitalized after a shooting at a Family Dollar store in Miami Gardens Thursday, police said.
Officers responded to the shooting at the store on Northwest 27th Avenue near Northwest 196th Street, officials said.
The gunshot victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was expected to be okay.
Police said the incident began with an argument inside the store that spilled out of the store and ended with the shooting.
"We don't know what they could've been arguing about that could've led to the subject shooting the victim at this time," police spokeswoman Carolyn Frazer said.
Mechanic Luis Perez was working nearby when he heard the gunshot and found the man on the ground bleeding from his leg.
"He wasn't crying, he wasn't doing anything, he was more like shocked that it happened to me, why, what's going on?" Perez said.
Police said the suspect fled from the scene and officers are still searching for him.
