The guard was carrying a money bag outside a check cashing store in the 2900 block of Northwest 27th Avenue when he was shot and robbed, Miami Police said.

A robber approached the guard, threw him to the ground and shot him in the leg, before taking off on foot with a bag of money, police said.

The guard was taken to a nearby hospital, where he's expected to be okay, officials said.
