Person of Interest in Rabbi Burglary Behind Bars: North Miami Beach Police

A man already behind bars on burglary charges is a person of interest in the burglary at a North Miami Beach rabbi's home, police said Friday.

Dorleans Philidor, 29, was arrested Thursday on burglary and marijuana possession charges. He was being held on $47,500 bond Friday and it was unknown if he has an attorney.

Philidor is also a suspect in the March 4 burglary at the home of Rabbi Eily Smith, who said he, his wife and children, ranging in age from 1 to 13, were asleep inside their 17630 South Glades Drive home when he was woken up by the burglar.

Smith said the burglar fled the home in Smith's car. The car was found later that day, abandoned.

Philidor is accused of stealing a diamond tennis bracelet during a burglary Wednesday afternoon, according to an arrest report. A stolen bicycle and laptop were also found at his home, the report said.
