Truck Vs Taxi Crash Sends Woman to Hospital

Roads shutdown Thursday morning due to a nasty crash in north Miami

A nasty crash between a pickup truck and a taxicab in north Miami sent one person to the hospital early Thursday.

The accident happened around 3:30 a.m. on Northwest 135th St. and 7th Ave., shortly after the taxi driver had picked up a passenger. 
 
The driver of a pick-up truck was heading East on 135th when investigators say he crashed into a the taxi headed north on 135th.
 
The crash caused the female passenger of the taxi to be ejected from the cab and the pick-up to flip several times, landing a block away.
 
“He was driving 65 to 70 mph where you’re supposed to go 40 mph. I’m a lucky guy anyway. I’m blessed,” said taxi driver Samuel Desholms.
 
The female passenger was transported to Ryder in critical condition. Both the cab driver and pick up driver made it out fine. FHP is investigating the crash.
