Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Everglades

A plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Shark Valley in the Everglades Saturday morning.

Three licensed pilots were on board the Piper single-engine plane to conduct training operations. None of them were injured.

The plane had taken off from Tamiami Airport. It was heading back to the airport after the plane lost power to its engine.

The pilot was able to safely land the aircraft near Shark Valley Road.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Miccosukkee Police and the National Park Service responded to the scene.

The FAA is investigating.
